Visit the Spanish Moss Trail

The Spanish Moss Trail is a 12-foot wide paved 10-mile

non-motorized multi-use Trail in Northern Beaufort County, SC

open for all to enjoy. Law Enforcement helps to keep the Trail safe and a

great experience for everyone. If you have an issue on the Trail please call 911. 


TRAIL ETIQUETTE & RULES

  • Open dawn to dusk
  • Speed limit 15 mph
  • Open for pedestrians and non-motorized transportation (Exception: motorized wheelchairs and class 1 e-bikes)
  • ATTENTION E-BIKE USERS: only class 1 e-bikes are allowed on the Trail. (These are pedal-assist bikes that do not have a throttle)
  • Cyclists please slow speed and alert pedestrians by saying "On Your Left" when passing
  • Pets must be on a leash no more than six feet long; Owners must pick up pet-waste (pet-waste stations available)
  • Open for recreational fishing in designated areas
  • Six parking Trailheads available
  • Restroom (R)/port-a-potty (PP) facilities available at Broome Lane Trailhead (PP); Depot Road Trailhead (PP); Beaufort Plaza Shopping Center Trail Access businesses (R) i.e. Publix and area fast food); ReFuel Gas Station (R) on corner of Boundary/Parris Island Gtwy; Parker's Convenience Store (R) at Roseida Road Trailhead Note: please consider picking up a drink or snack at any business where public bathrooms are provided.)
  • Prohibited: motorized vehicles, firearms, vandalism, alcoholic beverages, smoking or drugs of any kind, litter, fishing waste, horses, entering private property near Trail, and events without approval by the appropriate County/municipal officials
